Term 1

The new school year is always an exciting time as we welcome our new reception children and families and plan exciting events for our Year 1 and Year 2 children as they move to a new class and teacher. The teachers have worked hard over the summer preparing their classrooms and have already planned with the children the new topic they will be covering in the first term.

We also spend time with the children through assemblies, class sessions and small group work talking through the SEAL (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning) theme which in the first term is all about new beginnings.

Often the weather is good in September and we make the most of this time outside planting bulbs and making sure our conservation area beds have been weeded and making sure our last minute crops are picked and cooked by the children.
